Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

KES rewards respectful, responsible, and safe behavior with goal oriented celebrations. Students reached a goal of 3,000 stars and were rewarded with a crazy hair day celebration last Wednesday. Celebrations also come in the form of extra recess time, dancing in the gym, or obstacle course races, to name a few. New this year, KES has begun to host a monthly assembly to celebrate positive school climate as a result of respectful, responsible, and safe behavior. Parents are welcome to attend these celebrations as well. We aim to host these assemblies on the first Friday of each month at 8:10 AM in the gym. Watch the newsletter and announcements for date confirmations. We would love to have parents attend!

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Ms. Allison Naugle for her dedication to the successful implementation of PBIS at Killington Elementary School. Ms. Naugle formed and facilitates the Superstar Leadership Team, consisting of students in grades 5 & 6. Each Friday during lunch, they collaborate to plan celebrations, tally star counts, and represent student voice and choice in creating a positive school climate.

Please join me in thanking Ms. Naugle for her sincere dedication to students and colleagues at KES!
